Editorial
Write for the magazine
An advert says you exist. A feature says you know what you are doing. Editorial is open to members, free, and the single most under-used thing we offer.
What we publish
- How you solved a problem your industry has, with the actual numbers
- What you got wrong and what it cost — these are our most-read pieces
- A practical guide to something you know and most owners do not
- An informed opinion on something happening in your sector right now
What we do not
- A press release with the word 'article' at the top
- Anything whose real subject is how good your company is
- Pieces written by an agency who has never spoken to you
- Content with a link-building brief attached to it
How it works
Send a pitch, not a finished piece — the subject, why you are the person to write it, and three or four lines on what you want to say. We reply either way within a week. If we take it, we will agree a length (usually 700–1,200 words) and a deadline, edit for clarity and house style, and send you the edited version before it runs.
What it costs
Nothing. We do not charge for editorial we accept on merit, and we do not accept payment to run something as though it were editorial. Sponsored features exist, are clearly labelled as sponsored, and are sold as part of a sponsorship package rather than separately.
Pitch
Send us your idea
Three or four lines is plenty. We would rather read a rough pitch than a polished draft we have to turn down.
